These packages are designed around the different scripts that fonts are primarily intended to support, and most are installed automatically by Windows Update when the associated languages are enabled in language settings (for example, by enabling a keyboard). In order to make disk usage and font choices more relevant to users according to the languages that they use, a number of fonts have been moved into optional, on-demand packages. However, not all of these are pre-installed by default in all images.

Windows fonts are one aspect of this convergence: Windows 10 introduces a recommended UWP font set that is common across all editions that support UWP, including Desktop, Server, and Xbox.Ī number of additional fonts are available for Desktop and Server, including all other fonts from previous releases. NET UI control product line, including ComponentOne Studio and ComponentOne Studio for Xamarin.įorums for all versions of ActiveReports and ActiveReports Serverįorums for all current versions of Spread. Hope this may help some other people on this forum with similar issues.įorums for all current editions of the ComponentOne. Note that: 'Arial, Bold' or 'Arial-Bold' etc does not work! Removing the bold style and specifying the font family as 'Arial Bold'. The solution I found is to modify/set the Style property value directlyĮ.g.: font-family: 'Arial Bold' font-size: 8.5pt This is the scenario for me where the bold style is lost after a 'Save As' etc in Adobe as described in my previous posts. When setting the Font property by selecting Font name, style and size in the Font pop-up and clicking OK the associated Style property is automatically updatedĮ.g.: font-family: 'Arial' font-size: 8.5pt font-weight: bold In the properties window for the label or field having the Arial with Bold style there is the Font property and the Style property. I finally found the solution to my issue! Yay!

Great product btw with AR2 - providing more api control while generating the report with the before/after print/format methods and the export to PDF (and other formats) is brilliant and fast! My application now runs better than twice as fast using AR2 instead of Adobe distiller and is visually formatted better! -) Looks like I will need to convince business to let me use a different font! My previous design used the out of box VB DataReports component and I used the Adobe PDF Distiller to generate the PDF (very slow and unstable) but the Arial problem did not occur.

This may still be an Acrobat 'feature', I am not sure. Performing a direct save does not cause this problem! all the Arial bold disappears and changes to Arial regular. If the new AR generated PDF is opened in Adobe and a 'Save As' is performed this issue occurs, i.e. I will try to contact them.Īctually the problem is a little more simple to replicate than what I descibed in previous post.

MICROSOFT SANS SERIF BOLD LICENSE

Release and the client I am developing this for is in the process of purchasing a dev license from your company for this new development.Īlso using Acrobat 6 and using various IAC Adobe APIs to perform the afore mentioned PDF manipulation. It is obviously an issue for the Arial font (maybe others too?) so I am wondering if there's a fix for this?

Times New Roman) and the bold is maintained correctly.Ĭould you please shed some light on this issue? I have to use the Arial font as per our functional requirements etc etc.

MICROSOFT SANS SERIF BOLD CODE

When I step through my code and it gets to the first step where another page is inserted into the end of this PDF - the Arial Bold style text suddenly reverts to NOT bold. I think I have a similar issue to this where the bold style is disappearing from my Arial font!įirstly I am creating an AR report and Exporting to PDF e.g.:ĬlsExportObject.Filename = ReportFilenameīut then I need to do further manipulations of the PDF file including, appending pages, embedding electronic certificate and saving as a different name.
